About
Hi, I'm a self-taught juggler.
Juggling started as a New Year's resolution. It turned into one of my favourite things to do — and the reason this site exists.

A resolution that actually stuck
Like most people, I've made plenty of New Year's resolutions that didn't make it to February. Learning to juggle was different. I got myself a set of balls, watched a few videos, and practised in short bursts — dropping far more than I caught at first.
Then one day the three-ball cascade just clicked. That moment is hard to describe, but if you've ever learned to ride a bike you know the feeling. I've kept juggling ever since, and I'm still refining my technique and learning new tricks.
My go-to for focus on a busy day
I work from a home office, and some days are a blur of emails, calls and a to-do list that never gets shorter. That's when I reach for the juggling balls. A few minutes of juggling is my reset button: you simply can't think about your inbox while three balls are in the air. When I sit back down at my desk, my head is clearer and I can focus again.
Persistence beats perfection
Juggling has also taught me something that goes well beyond juggling. Every new trick starts the same way: you drop the balls. Again and again. You don't get better by being perfect. You get better by picking the balls up one more time than you drop them.
Whenever I'm practising something new, that's what it reminds me of: persistence matters more than perfection. It's true for juggling, and it's true for most things in life. A dropped ball isn't failure, it's just part of learning.
Why I think everyone should juggle
- It's a real skill you can learn at any age. No special talent required — just patience and a bit of persistence.
- It's good for you. Research links juggling to changes in the brain, and it's a surprisingly good workout for your arms.
- It clears your head. When the balls are in the air, there's no room to think about anything else.
- It's cheap. A beginner set costs very little and lasts for years.

Juggling brings people together
This is the part I didn't expect. Juggling is a brilliant ice-breaker: pull out three balls and people wander over, want to have a go, or show you a trick of their own. Teaching a friend is one of the most rewarding things you can do — and once two of you can juggle, you can start passing between you.
